The Diploma in Payroll Management

The IPASS Diploma in Payroll Management course has been specifically designed for the needs of Irish payroll managers. The Diploma course is aimed at providing payroll managers with the skills necessary to manage a payroll department. Candidates will be provided with a stimulating and intellectually challenging management development programme along with a thorough education in the concepts and techniques of management specially adapted for the payroll environment. Successful candidates at this level will be able to display to their employers a proven knowledge of their professionalism and competence at an advanced level and they will have acquired a professional qualification which will enhance their career prospects and improve confidence and self esteem in their chosen career.

Course Structure

The Diploma course builds on previous learning acquired while studying the Certified Payroll Technician course.

This course is available through a mixture of home based and classroom based learning. Students are required to attend classes of two full days per module (each on a Saturday). The classroom course is currenly available in a number of locations throughout the country including Dublin, Athlone, Cork, Limerick & Waterford.

• Management Skills and Processes for the Payroll Manager
• Employment Law Issues in the Payroll Enviroment
• Advanced Income Tax and Social Welfate Practice.
• Payroll Management in an IT Environment.

Start dates are in September, January, March and May each year. All students pursue their studies on one of the above-described modules in each quarter. Flexible start-dates also allow students to commence their diploma studies at the time of the year which best suits themselves.

Candidates who successfully complete the IPASS Diploma in Payroll Management will be entitled to enrol in IPASS as a full member and to use the designatory letters MIPA (Member of the Irish Payroll Association).
